Kentucky Kingdom Signage & Print Media

Project Overview: During my time as the In-Park Signage and Print Media Coordinator at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay, I was able to bring out my inner child and play, explore, and create. This position required me to create a wide array of projects; from menu boards, restaurant logos, way-finding, large store front signage, park maps, banners, informational and safety signage, and more.

Restaurant and Retail Signage: 2021 brought a face-life to many restaurant and retail locations at Kentucky Kingdom. This brought the opportunity of designing new logos, new menus, and a building a new approach to the theme park’s signage. My process including giving each location it’s own personality, and thinking about ways to drive in new customers simply by the sign.

Souvenir Bottles: Theme park souvenir bottles can be one of the greatest connections between park and guest — and you can even take it home and keep it for years to come. 2021 was the first year Kentucky Kingdom went with two souvenir bottles. The gold bottle being “special” with the opportunity of free soft drinks and $1.99 ICEEs. I designed this bottle to be fun, joyful, and more eye-catching next to the red, encouraging sales of the more premium, higher priced bottle. It was such a fun project and I love thinking that they played a part in many families having a great time at Kentucky Kingdom.

Water Park and Directional Signs: At a theme park — safety and way finding is a top priority. I had the opportunity to design and create many informative and legal signs which would face and help Kentucky Kingdom guests daily.
