ROCKETS at Kentucky Science Center

Project Overview: ROCKETS has been a fan favorite exhibit at the science center for years (see reviews below). Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and dwindling resources, the rocket table was removed in 2020. Luckily, in 2023, the ROCKET table made it’s long awaited return and with it came new branding and signage.

ROCKETS encourages guests to build and engineer their own paper rockets to test and even launch across our atrium 🚀

The Solution: ROCKETS exists in a small space between another exhibit. This limited the space in which signage and instructions could live. We solved this by using a “grid” like layout and utilizing the building table itself. The exhibit branding consists of a bright & punchy color palette, hand drawn illustrations, and an approachable set of typefaces. All of these elements work together in creating a welcoming and encourage space for people of all ages to explore, test, build and create rockets.
